Here I go… (Deep breathing commences)
I have been obsessed with reading blogs ever since my
husband got me an iPad for our wedding.
My reading list grows by the day.
There literally are so many blogs that I read, that it is impossible to
keep with them and actually have a normal life.
So, after always seeing these great ideas put out there in cyber space and
thinking, “I can do that too!“ I see it
as an opportunity for me to share my creations and ideas and contribute to a
community that has given me so many great ideas.
Why Food. Fashion. Home. ?
FOOD.
Food was always my first love (sorry honey). I remember many of childhood trips and family
gathers by the food that I ate. I am a
lucky to have grown up with a mother who was always making healthy food from
scratch. After watching and helping
with that throughout my youth, I became much like my mother and want to cook a
good meal every night of the week (not every night, but most days).
FASHION.
Fashion is something that I try to stay on top of, but find
that almost impossible if it isn’t part of your job. I use a lot of what I see from blogs,
magazines, and in real life to make my own fashion decisions. Living on a teacher’s budget doesn’t exactly
help keep me up-to-date, but it does keep me in check with my decision making
when on line to purchase. I am super
proud to be a “frugalista” and it has gotten many clothing compliments to this
day.
My fashion style is all over the place, which is very
similar to my personality. I try to be
trendy without being too over the top.
Like I said, I have a budget and really have to work with that so buying
all the latest hot items isn’t possible.
I really like clean lines and solid colors, but I have been trying to
widen my horizons.
HOME.
Home is where I want to do many of my projects. When I first started dating my husband, his
townhouse was almost empty and one room was even painted minty green (barf). I
have to say that since my moving in and it becoming my home, there have been
numerous improvements. Over the past six
plus years, we have managed to do something big to each room, including an
entirely brand new kitchen, deck, and master bath (almost).
Many of the projects I try to conquer myself, but my husband
is the real handyman that makes it all possible. Home projects are always DIY and with a
strict budget. Although I know we wont
be staying in our home for much longer, I look forward to someone buying our
home and enjoying all of our hard work.
Our home style is very minimalistic and modern. Pretty much if you haven’t touched something
or used it in a while, you take a picture of it and get rid of it. That was a hard concept in the beginning, but
it makes total sense. Tchotchkes (aka knickknacks, doodads, trinkets, etc.) are
not allowed in this home at all! Sorry,
there wont be any of those projects here.
Let’s get this blogging party started? Right?
